Change is a constant in medicine and that reality is especially true today. Efforts to improve the practice of medicine were well underway long before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the last six months have forced many practices to accelerate or to suspend those improvements. While the full impact of COVID-19 on clinical practice is impossible to predict, the recent months have revealed both the resilience of our profession and the vulnerability of our system. In this presentation, Dr. Michael Mendoza will revisit the need for practice redesign in light of what we have learned so far during the COVID-19 pandemic and offer suggestions for how we might broaden practice redesign to better address public health.
