Addiction Medicine Committee
The Addiction Medicine Committee is an established MCMS Committee that includes area physicians, clinical staff, and community based mental health staff collaborating on prevention programs and current treatment options for patients with addiction and chemical abuse diagnoses. The Addiction Medicine Committee meets 5 times each year (2nd Thursday of January, March, May, September, and November) for discussion on varying topics and speakers.
Community Approach to Results Release CommitteeA comparison of health system laboratory and imaging test result policies (including sensitive test results) and other info shared with patients and proxies via patient portals as we work to develop and finalize community standards. Home Health Agency Patient Services and Physician Communication CommitteeWorked through 2019 on issues including a home health agency standardized discharge summary document and meaningful, effective ongoing communication between physicians and agencies. A recent focus is on the Patient Driven Grouping Model, a new home health agency reimbursement model slated to begin on January 1, 2020. Nominating CommitteeOne of three standing committees of the Monroe County Medical Society, the Nominating Committee to proposes the slate of officers to the MCMS Board of Directors for their approval. Practice Management CommitteeThe MCMS Practice Management Committee is a long-standing group of MCMS practice managers that discuss current issues relating to the management of their practices. The MCMS Practice Management Committee works together with MCMS to resolve payer issues for the entire MCMS physician practices, establish guidelines and protocols for all MCMS physician member practices, and facilitate Practice Management Round Table discussion on various topics. The MCMS Practice Management Committee also develops and produces the biennial MCMS Salary Survey for the area practices. Maintains a list of people who are qualified and merit special awards, evaluates these individuals, and presents recommendations to the Executive Committee, as needed.
Billing CommitteeThe MCMS Billing Management Committee is comprised of MCMS member practices’ billing managers. The MCMS Billing Management Committee meets 4 times per year to review and discuss billing issues and trends affecting the MCMS practices. The MCMS Billing Management Committee assists in the development of financial and billing documents for all MCMS practices to reference. Editorial CommitteeMeets annually to discuss focus of MCMS Publications for the upcoming year to keep current interests and issues in the health care industry and our community, front and center. Committee includes 3 rotating editors for the Bulletin and 7 members. Finance and Audit Committee
Oversees the budget and finances of MCMS.
Medical Scholarship TrustRaises funds to provide a scholarship for at least four medical students in
the Rochester area and to raise additional funds for low interest loans to
students in the Rochester area attending medical school. Physician - Pharmacy CommitteeAddresses issues impacting patients by bringing together physicians and pharmacists. The committee currently has 30+ members and The is currently working to ensure no gaps in care occur due to COVID-19 and recent pharmacy closings. Private Practice CommitteeProvides information and a forum for discussion on issues concerning private practice. Quality CollaborativeFocused on promoting the implementation of high quality health care by serving as a unified, objective, clear consistent physician voice advocating for quality improvement. The Committee currently has 20+ members and is moving forward with the creation of the Opioid Guideline. |
