Why I joined:
I was starting out in solo practice and really had no colleagues or mentors to help me get started. The Medical Society did just that – I got the tools I needed to begin. They provided help with everything from finding financing to basic HR information needed to hire and manage my staff.
Why support MCMS?
MCMS continues to be a voice for the solo and group practitioners. It is easy to have our needs unmet and our concerns not heard when not part of a large hospital system. I am also able to keep up to date with the changes in medicine through the various publications of MCMS and MSSNY. MCMS provides support for office staff, including training in areas such as privacy rules, record retention, coding, and front desk operations.
What do you think is the most valuable benefit or service offered by MCMS?
The linkage to colleagues and the opportunity to participate in a variety of initiatives is invaluable.
What has MCMS done for you?
Kept me up to date and compliant with various governmental and other regulations. If I have a question, I know I can count on Nancy and her staff to research it and get back to me with an accurate answer in a timely fashion.
“I could not imagine practicing without the support of my local medical society. My field is a small one, and it is good to be able to maintain connections with other physicians. It is also good to have an organization that looks out for the well being of my profession; they make me feel good to be a physician. I’m glad that I do not have to fight battles protecting my interests by myself.”
