ICD-10-CM Coding Update
Don’t let improperly coded claims break your revenue cycle!
On October 1, 2025, the 2026 ICD-10-CM code set updates will go into effect, impacting numerous specialties. It is important to have a strong foundation in diagnostic coding principles and guidelines, and a joint effort between your healthcare providers and medical coders will save time finding and properly documenting the correct diagnostic and procedural changes, forecasting the potential revenue impact, and ensuring complete, accurate reimbursement. Failure to code to the highest degree of specificity negatively impacts reimbursement and utilization statistics. Coders that are unfamiliar with coding guidelines put the practice's reimbursement at risk and may trigger an audit. Reliance on your EMR for proper code selection is dangerous! Sharpen diagnostic coding accuracy to curb error rates and denials. Medical coders, billers, providers, managers, consultants, and compliance officers are encouraged to attend this intermediatelevel review of the new, revised, and deleted ICD-10-CM codes, and updates to the general and chapter-specific guidelines for coding and reporting. Digital materials are included with a summary of code changes to serve as a resource beyond the session. Participants may bring (not required) an ICD-10-CM code set manual to reference the context of the changes.
