1. Explain how shame and stigma against persons living with HIV and/or persons who use drugs undermine progress.
2. Recognize the historical foundations of medical mistrust that directly affect communities and describe its effect on individual healthcare behaviors - overt and insidious.
3. Identify the political and societal tools that impede the progress of persons living with HIV and/or persons who use drugs.
4. Discuss provider discomfort with patient sexual history taking and analyze common patient-to-provider communication errors.
